Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-19
This policy explains what BioStar (“we”) collects when you visit getbiostar.com, why, and what control you have over it.
Information we collect
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not run forms that collect personal information. What is collected happens automatically:
- Server logs — IP address, browser user-agent, referring page and requested URL, kept by our hosting provider for security and abuse prevention.
- Analytics — if enabled, Google Analytics 4 records aggregated usage (pages viewed, approximate country, device type). IP addresses are anonymised by Google before storage.
- Advertising — if advertising is enabled, Google AdSense and its partners may set cookies or read device identifiers to serve and measure ads.
Cookies
The site itself sets no cookies for its own functionality. Cookies that appear come from the third-party services above. You can block or delete them in your browser settings; the site will continue to work normally.
Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads. Google’s use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors’ cookies at aboutads.info/choices.
Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA)
If you are in the EEA, the UK or California, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data relating to you, and to object to processing. Because we do not hold accounts, this normally concerns analytics and advertising data held by Google — their policies are linked above. Requests to us: contact@getbiostar.com.
Where consent is required for advertising or analytics cookies, a consent notice is shown before those services load, and your choice is respected on later visits.
Information about the people we write about
Profiles cover public figures and are compiled from openly published records. If you are the subject of a profile and want it corrected or removed, write to us and we will act on it — see the editorial policy and removals page.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
Material changes to this policy will be posted here with a new “last updated” date.
