Correcting a fact

Include the profile URL, the statement that is wrong, what it should say, and a source we can check. Corrections are free and we do not require a legal notice for them.

Requesting removal of your own profile

If you are the subject of a profile — or their authorised representative — and want the page taken down, say so and confirm your identity. We honour these requests and do not require a reason.

Image takedown (DMCA notice)

Every portrait on this site is used under a free licence with attribution shown. If you believe an image is nonetheless infringing, send a notice containing:

1. Your physical or electronic signature.
2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
3. The exact URL of the material on this site.
4. Your address, telephone number and email.
5. A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.
6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorised to act for the rights holder.

Valid notices result in removal of the material. Counter-notices may be sent to the same address.

Repeat infringers

Sources that produce repeated valid complaints are removed from our image pipeline entirely.
